The VSPOT

DV

My experience at The V Spot was great! I went there with a good friend of mine for dinner. I am not a vegetarian but I definitely enjoyed the food. The staff was patient with us and we understood each other just fine. The waiter was very friendly and he was always coming up to us to check if we needed anything. He was very gestural (no lipreading needed! Thank god ha) I would go back there to try some more of their food.

This cafe have been around for a few years and it's nearby Barclay Center. If you are aiming for something kosher, vegan and latin, swing by this place. However, their ingredients contains heavily on soy. Don't fret as their long list of meals and beverages provide some that are soy-free, gluten-free, or available as gluten-free. My biggest issue is their limited desserts options. Again, most are made with soy, peanuts, and chocolate. I even asked them if they're willing to expand their desserts menu free of soy and peanuts and non-chocolate. Yep, there are several people who are not a fan of chocolate. Their service was not that great. There were times when I attempted to communicate with them and they will turn to ask the other server to convey with me. And sometimes they are not that friendly or they seems distracted. I usually tune it out with their attitude but, when in need to converse with them or ask them questions, that what troubles me. Basically, they need to improve their service in general. Some days are good and some days are bad. This is one reason I hardly go back unless they take in consideration in having their patrons coming back.
