Anna

I made an appointment with them through VP relay and they accepted it with no issues - I did not make a request for an interpreter due to wanting a quicker time slot than having to wait two-4 weeks for a short appointment. When I arrived, I used a paper and pen to communicate with them - that's when they realized I was Deaf (I had my reasons for not notifying them). My appointment was at 10:30 but I ended up waiting until 11 - I wasn't sure why my appointment was running late so I kept checking up with the front desk. She knew some ASL alphabet - it wasn't until after almost 40 minutes she let me know that they were waiting for an interpreter to arrive. (Because I never told them I was Deaf on the phone nor made any requests) - I was flattered by the effort on their side to rush in finding an interpreter for my appointment. However, I did wish they asked me or somehow let me know as soon as I signed in at the front desk about getting an interpreter - I would have thanked them and denied the request and that I was perfectly fine with using a paper and a pen for this appointment. When they told me, I told them it wasn't necessary - they seemed relieved and respected my choice. The Doctor come in as soon afterwards and my appointment started after that - Dr. Greene was really animated with his facial expressions and was comfortable with using gestures and pointing to things. He didn't try to talk over my writing or respond back with just talking. He wrote what was lengthy and descriptive but he was easy to lipread with some simpler things.
Other than the Interpreter miscommunication - I would definitely come back. Glad to see that they were willing to find an interpreter even at a last minute's notice.
