Marfan Syndrome and Related Aortic Conditions

Hello. I want to share some wonderful news. I recently went to DeafNation Expo in Pleasanton (10/11/14). I saw a Stanford Hospital booth represented and their interpreters were there. They had two interpreters there who are on staff, plus there were two other people there from Stanford at their booth. This was wonderful!! I'll tell you why. Last year, December, I had a big experience there with my husband in Stanford Hospital. I faced struggles to get interpreters for me when only one was on staff and did not work on weekends. I made a vlog about it some time ago, encouraging Stanford to make some changes. And now, less than a year later, I'm noticing a big difference with Stanford. They are now adding more full time interpreters. They are coming to Deaf events to let people they have accessible services. I want to help support them by offering my kudos to the interpreter dept. within Stanford for listening to the Deaf community and doing what they can as allies to support our need for more interpreters. I know it's not perfect yet, but it's an ongoing effort to improve the system by listening to Deaf people needs. I thought this was worthy of recognition. Please show your support for Stanford Hospital. And, by the way, they did not ask me to make this vlog. I decided to do this myself to recognize their efforts. So YAY to you Stanford interpreters and hospital for hearing the need of the Deaf community and expanding your services!! Outstanding!
