Beet Box

Rachel Berman

I come here occasionally, and each time I come, I've had a pleasant communication experience with the cashiers. I love their sandwiches and pastries. Recently, I went there, and a woman with blonde hair fingerspelled and was very upbeat and patient with me and my other friend who was signing as well. They are open to writing their responses on the paper. One time, I did a cake order, and their order sheet is very Deaf-friendly-you circle the selections (size, frosting, flavor, etc.), giving me the confidence that no misunderstanding would happen and I would get the right cake. It's nice to be able to go to a place knowing that your communication needs won't be challenged, and they're starting to know me, which then creates a desire for them to be accommodating to Deaf consumers.
