Rosenberg's Bagels & Delicatessen (Five Points)

Rachel Berman

My Jewish soul was tickled pink upon finding this NY bagel deli. Chris and I were excited, and there was a long line. The excitement was compounded by the fact that it was vegan-friendly. When we finally arrived to the front to make our order, a woman with blonde hair (wish I got her name) probably never met a Deaf person before because she kept talking to us and giving us confused looks when we asked her to write what she said (we made our order on Cardzilla app and showed it to her). My mood was suddenly changed due to the miscommunication. I asked her how we could pick up our order since we wouldn't be able to hear the call (there was no pick-up area.. the staff brings the bagel to people), and she called on one of the staff named Peter Paul. He was SO friendly and seemed to have interacted with Deaf people before as he smiled and finger spelled "OK". This again changed our moods back to the positive one, and he brought our bagels to us with a beautiful smile and friendly nature. I asked for his name, and he finger spelled his name. Hopefully after our visit, the place is made more aware about our existence. :) This place could have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't for that woman at the front.
