This place was so deaf-friendly and accessible and it had a lot to do with the cashier Stephen. When Stephen realized I was Deaf, he went on serving me and didn't become awkward or nervous like so many do. He used visual prompts like showing the screen to me to ask me questions or verify my order. He was also very comfortable with me using gestures. When my food was ready and they called it out, I must not have heard them. Stephen immediately brought it out to me. It's a huge win for Jimmy John's to have an employee that is comfortable serving different kinds of folks! As a result of this deaf-friendly service, I'll be back!
