DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pleasanton at the Club

Anonymous User

We stayed here while attending DeafNation Expo in Pleasanton. We requested an ADA kit and did not receive it until the next morning (they couldn't find it). Without being able to use the telephone, the only way I could order room service for our breakfast meeting was to use my internet to place a text relay call (our connection was too slow to accommodate video relay call from our laptop). It took nearly 30 minutes to order our food (partly due to no ADA equipment yet, the slow internet connection and having to use text relay). It was a frustrating experience for me, but luckily, the front desk clerk Mansika was very patient and made sure to get our order right. The food was medicore. Mansika was also very helpful when I had questions about a shipment being delivered to the hotel and took her time communicating with us as best as possible. I would suggest they update their ADA kit to include an option with videophone as many of us no longer use TTY's and still need to place calls from our room.

I rare give 3 stars to a hotel but this one deserve 3 stars. They didn't have ADA kits ready and they arrived around 2am while we were sleeping! umm, No! Finally on the next day in the afternoon, they installed it. The reason I put 3 instead of 2 stars because some of the staffs were friendly and they used paper and pen to communicate. I was expecting to this to be the "Hilton". It didn't feel like the brand "Hilton" hotel. Expect to get what you pay for.
