Woodmark Hotel & Still Spa

Anonymous User

I had a very interesting stay here several months ago. The biggest challenge for me as a Deaf guest was that they did not have one working ADA kit in the entire hotel. They ended up having to borrow an ADA kit from a different hotel. Without the proper ADA kit, I was not able to know when someone was at my door, I could not place a phone call from within the room, and was at risk for missing a fire alarm. When they finally arrived to my room the next day with the borrowed ADA kit, it was outdated and not what I needed. The poor managers went through all the trouble only to have gotten the wrong stuff. The solution around this issue was to issue me the name and text number of each manager on duty. Anything I needed, I could text the manager. Since my stay was for a long weekend, this took some coordination twice or three times a day as new managers came on. I have to say that while not an ideal situation, the managers did everything they could to resolve this issue by communicating with me very quickly via text for whatever I needed. I gave them an additional star for their willingness to be flexible. I hope the next time I come to retreat here, the ADA kit issue has been resolved!
