Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel

This hotel was wonderful! They provided a text phone number for room service so you don't have to go downstairs to front desk and ask for what you need at the hotel room. The front desk knew some sign language (basic signs) and were super friendly in communicating with you. Some of the staff wore "I sign" buttons. Very easily accessible!

The best hotel I ever been to, seriously!

I was pleased with their instructions, given in sign language via an interpreter, during the peak check-in time, about text-based solutions, ADA kits, and area recommendations. This was fabulous because there was a conference going on where the majority was Deaf attendees. I was blown away by their services because none of the other hotels I’ve been to has ever done this. They made me feel like I was a guest who deserved a great stay. The front desk staff demonstrated an ability to greet me directly, and showed how comfortable they were in working with the interpreter — especially Christopher. He was willing to learn basic signs and went the extra mile to make sure I had a great time. There were also other employees with similar enthusiasm, which was a BONUS! During each day of the conference, the employees, including the bartender, were constantly committed to being deaf-friendly and I could see firsthand how they rolled with various communication modes to accommodate each guest — with ease. This was by far the best customer service I ever received.

I highly recommend this hotel for future Deaf conferences; you will not be disappointed!

I cannot say enough about how welcoming my experience was!  The minute I walked in the door, I felt so warm and welcome by everyone - the staff was super friendly and knew minimal sign language thanks to the fabulous training by DeafFriendly.  Everything was accessible - my hotel room had a great ADA kit with flashing doorbell, vibrating alarm clock. They also were sure to flick the lights before entering my room.  The text service was wonderful - I texted them anytime for things ranging from hangers, more towels, even a wine opener :)

Really appreciative - they replaced a perfume bottle that was broken in my room, without any questions asked.

I will definitely recommend this hotel to ANYONE that stays in the Phoenix area, and even as a Phoenix resident, I wouldn't mind going back for a staycation there :)  (or to say HEY to any of the superfriendly hotel staff)

Amazing service! Staff signs, courtesy service, and everything else.

What really sealed the deal is the hotel offered texting for concierge services!!!!

This is a review about the bar. After opening ceremony for NAD conference, there was a huge amount of Deaf people in the bar. From what I could see, they handled everything really well. Vivian was our server that evening and she was so patient and flexible with many different communication styles. She gestured, wrote back and forth, cracked jokes and was super at ease. The other staff Tony, was also friendly and accommodating. Oh, and a bonus! All the TV's had their closed caption on. Good job Renaissance!

I love this place! I walked in and was greeted in ASL. The front desk communicated with me in gestures and writing back and forth, and were readily prepared with paper and pen. They signed “Good morning” to me, which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for being deaffriendly!
