I was able to make an appointment with Oscar's Barbershop by texting!I was able to text to that specific barber. Normally, it is a hassle for me to reach people, sometimes going to an accountant or a menu or multiple people. But, I was able to text to this specific person to make an appointment.

I arrived into the barbershop with barbers standing behind their chairs. It has the 1950's vibe. Fascinating. Typically, they would be awkward with a deaf customer, but it wasn't like that. We fist-pumped each other. It was warm and it was nice because they treat me like any other person. It's an amazing feeling!

While I sat down and waited, I noticed the T.V. already had their captions on! I didn't even ask them to turn on the closed caption. They always have closed caption on. A receptionist got my attention by waving at me and letting me know they are ready for me. I sat down and instead of talking to me, the barber gave me some pictures of different hairstyles.

Wow! It was awesome! We don't have to use paper and pen to communicate! We used gestures. Then he cut my hair and normally, they would talk, but he left me alone and didn't bother me. I enjoyed my quiet time with my phone. It was great!
