If you are considering to hire a moving company, I strongly urge you to AVOID Mitchell Moving & Storage Company! Let me tell you what happened when my fiance and I hired Mitchell Moving & Storage Company:

Around three months ago, my fiance and I hired Mitchell Moving & Storage Company which is under Altas contact to move our furniture and things to southern California from Seattle. When three people (Terry, Debbie, and Mark) from Mitchell came to our apartment to pack our things to prepare to move out within next day. We were told that if we pack some our things and sealed the boxes and they will not responsible for any damages for these boxes unless they pack it on themselves. I have a collection which I don't feel comfortable to have strangers to pack it and break them because some collections I have are rare and hard to find the replacement. I explained to them that. At that time, they are seem like they understood it. Few minutes later, one of them, Debbie ended up opening up some sealed boxes which my collection were in these boxes. I approached to her and reminded her what I instructed them few minutes ago. She ignored me and continued opening up these boxes and I became really upset and had my fiance to talk to her about that. She finally stopped doing that and focus on packing on our kitchen.

While three of them were packing our things, Terry who is the manager of Mitchell kept yelling at Mark for not packing things right (based on my observation, Mark did the job just fine) then got out of Terry's frustration on Mark by stomped the boxes against the floor and packed our things more rough. My fiance and I were disgusted by Terry's poor management behavior toward to Mark. I told Terry please take it easy and focus on packing. Later that day, Terry became really obsessed with Mark and get his anger out on him again and again by yelling really loud and stomped the boxes. I don't like the way Terry bully Mark at all. Then, Debbie packed our kitchen extremely slow with number of idle times until she notices that we were pay attention to her then she went back to work. These guys took really long time to pack everything than we expected. We were told that they will get job done within few hours. We had 650 sq.ft. one bedroom apartment. At the end of day, they finally finished packed everything, Terry had to do inventory on boxes to make sure we get everything covered. Terry struggled to figure out how to do inventory and unable to write it down. My fiance and I both realized that Terry wasn't trained properly so we had to help Terry and made sure he got everything wrote down for our own sakes.

Next day, Mitchell guys, Terry, Patrick, and Gary came to move all boxes and furniture out of our apartment into the moving truck. The nightmare began when they came. Terry explained to us about the process of moving our stuff downstairs (we live on the second floor) by building a slide made out of cardboard to slide all our stuff to first floor to speed up the moving. I was really appalled by this because many of our things are fragile. They said it won't break a thing from slide and I didn't believe them. I demanded them to do old fashion way by carry our stuff physically so no stuff will be break. One of guys, Patrick whined loudly about his physical issues (in my mind, if he got physical issues then why is he working for a moving company?) and we got into argument about this and I told them if they don't respect our wishes then they will not touch our stuff and I will call their supervisor. They freaked out and removed the slide off of stair and did their job. Afterward, Patrick began to act like big brat kid by whined lots about his physical issues. My fiance and I got really annoyed by Patrick's childish behavior. Terry did nothing to correct Patrick's unprofessional behavior. One of guys, Gary took huge dump in our bathroom and didn't flush it. It ended up smelling really bad in our apartment. Ugh! After they got everything out of our apartment and it took them much longer than expected which we were not very happy about it because we wanted to run our errands in Seattle before we leave next day and we were running late because of that.

It took Atlas almost a week to get our furniture and stuff to arrive at our new home in California. New guys from Atlas and local moving company were MUCH BETTER and MORE PROFESSIONAL than Mitchell Moving & Storage Company guys! They were very respectful and get things done quick. After they left, we took closer look to our furniture and goods to make sure nothing is broken or scratched. Unfortunately, Mitchell guys weren't really careful with our stuff. They damaged our bookcases and broke few stuff. Worst thing is that Debbie from Mitchell were really dumb with limited vocabulary. She wrote all Kitchen boxes "Spices" instead of being more specific with what is inside of boxes. It took us a while to find everything. Thanks a lot, Debbie!

It may seen like an exaggration but that is what happened. Unbelievable.
