Jimmy John's

No improvement since the last time I visited. I was there for their $1 subs on Customer Appreciation Day and there was a long line outside but there enough staff inside to keep things moving quickly for the orders. The female staff who took my order outside spoke very rapidly. I gestured that I was Deaf and asked for the order notepad. I wrote down what I wanted and even when she knew I was Deaf, she continued to speak rapidly, as if I would be able to understand her (I didn't) and she wasn't even maintaining eye contact. It was awkward and strange. But the second female staff who took my prepared order note so I could pay inside was nice. Gestured "$1" so I knew how much it would cost extra to add on an item. Thank you to the second person for helping communicate with me to make sure I understood how much it would cost for my order and for being nice to me.

I stopped by this location to pick up a sandwich. I've only eaten at JJ's probably 1-2 times in the last few years so their menu is still new to me. The person who assigned me with my order did not write on the paper that I used to communicate about my order. So it was a bit challenging with trying to understand what she was saying to me regarding some of the questions I had such as if they had smaller sandwich versions available. The other staff who was standing nearby waiting to make the sandwiches did show me the different bread and sizes so that helped. I hope it will go better in the future by using our preferred communication style to understand each other such as writing on the paper instead of talking at me. :)
