Five Star Dance Studios

deafgal01

I've been taking ballroom dance lessons from this studio since June 2014.  To my knowledge, I may have been the first Deaf client they have ever met.  The lessons are very visual so I've been able to easily pick up on the basic steps and moves for the types of ball room dancing.  One instructor there is very curious about ASL so he's been asking me for certain signs and I've been teaching him a few.  They know when I show up to group class, that instead of hearing people clap, to do the Deaf applause or a mixture of hearing/Deaf applause.  Some of the instructors have been fairly easy to understand/lipread but not all of them. Their positive attitudes are all catching though and they teach me higher/advanced dance moves even though I'm still in the bronze program.
