When you wake up in the morning or afternoon, you have a sweet taste in your mouth. You need to satisfy that sweet tooth craving. You have some cinnamon rolls and a package of cookies you bought at the store, and at work, right around the corner, is that big candy machine. While those things would typically satisfy this craving, it goes much deeper. The only thing satisfying this craving is the scrumptious, appetizing, room-filling aroma of those delicious homemade sweets. The sad thing is you do not bake, or you may not have time to bake; do not worry; I have found a solution. I have found a small bakery in Baytown, Texas, called Heart & Whisk Bakery.  The bakery is owned by Hannah Puente, who started the business in 2013 while still a student at Sterling High School and continued while studying nursing at Sam Houston State University. Initially, she made specially designed cookies for birthday parties and weddings.  Since then, she has sold her cookies at Framer markets as well. On September 14, 2024, she and her co-workers opened Heart & Whisk Bakery at 4618 North Main Street. I have been to the bakery thrice and come home with delicious, sweet treats each time. I have met Hannah and find her a very dedicated, energetic, and delightful young lady. I do remember the first time I met her; it was on a Sunday afternoon. I walked in, and she was behind the counter. Usually, she is in the back with her hands in dough. I am hard of hearing and use American Sign Language sometimes. I walked up to the counter and signed the chocolate chocolate chip cookie.  She replied I do not know sign language, but I know who you are.  We have a mutual friend who works there; she signs.  So, she was warned that I would probably not speak but use ASL. That day, I got three chocolate chip cookies that were mouth-watering and delicious. I understand that the menu stays the same with some minor changes. The last time I was there, they had banana pudding and a giant chocolate cookie, so I got one. When I approach the window, I see all those sweet treats looking at me, each one saying, "Take me." It takes time to decide.  I have seen in the display case cinnamon rolls, pop-tarts, pumpkin loaf, chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, all kinds of muffins, and all kinds of brownies. Delicious. They are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. three days a week: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I understand they plan to be open six days a week. So, why not stop by and see Hannah and her excellent staff and pick up some of those delicious-tasting treats? If you cannot wait to sink your teeth into your sweet treats, sit at one of the many tables, order a cup of coffee, and enjoy.  One staff member does sign for the deaf and hard-of-hearing customers.  Heart & Whisk Bakery 4618 North Main Street Baytown, Texas

A little bakery on North Main Street in Baytown is called Heart & Whisk.  I visited the Heart & Whisk Bakery on September 29 and again on October 11. During my September 29 visit, I got three chocolate chip cookies. All three were delicious, especially the first one, which I ate in the car while going to an afternoon church service, and it was still warm.  On October 11, I got two pieces of Pumpkin Loaf again, which were delicious.
I went there to see if I could hold a deaf event at the bakery.  On January 4, 2025, we will have our first Deaf Social Where Bakery at the Heart & Whisk Bakery.  They have plenty of room for people to get together and chat, tell stories, and learn new ASL signs.
Heart & Whisk Bakery was started in 2013 by Hannah Nieto, who owns the bakery. The bakery is known for its beautifully designed custom cookies, perfect for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, or holiday gatherings. The cookies are also delicious. However, during my visit, I spotted chocolate chip cookies, brownies, muffins, pumpkin loaf, and many other delightful goodies. One of the customer service representatives knows sign language.
