Conscious Contact Healing Arts

Jennifer provides awesome classes: chakras, essential oils, yoga, & yoga infusion in her beautiful & magicL studio.  She is fluent in ASL & makes everyone feel comfortable as well as safe in her environment.  I've never experienced best yoga teaching practices until I took her classes. She even make music accessible for Deaf people using light devices & boom boxes.  Jennifer hires one or two interpreters for Deaf people if she has hearing yogis in her classes.  She's a CHAMP teacher! I travelled 5 hours just to take her classes.  Highly recommended for any beginners to advanced yogis.

As a deaf artist who also works in the healing arts and travels extensively throughout North America I am pleased to share the wonderful resource I have found Conscious Contact Healing Arts to be in many ways.
I have attended two of the Reiki Healing Circles when I was visiting on Long Island and both were so beautiful, loving, sweet and yet profound. This gathering attracts people from all walks of life and provides a serene healing atmosphere where all can feel safe and get the universal love infusion that is known as Reiki. It is also a beautiful time to share and commune with like minded folk. I leave feeling cared for and open to what the next day may hold. There were two skilled and devoted interpreters and also one of the facilitators is an interpreter.
Another service CCHA offers is  Yoga classes. You may go to a hearing class or a class taught in ASL specifically organized for the deaf and signing community. This is such a treat for me. To have a teacher that signs so lyrically and clearly exactly what I need to know and miss in hearing classes. This is especially important for breathing which I have struggled with in other venues. I always say the hallmark of a great teacher is someone who can both challenge the people who are skilled and have been doing the discipline a long time and also inspire not intimidate the novice that is just brave enough to show up. I am the novice and I was impressed with how the seasoned yogis soared in class and yet the time and patience that was extended to me  to help me get the fundamental building blocks correct.  I will definitely look forward  to more classes when I am on the east coast and I would also gladly travel for the retreats and work shops and educational weekends CCHA offers throughout the  year. You will love Jennifer Wilkinson's fluent and warm sign language and her joy in sharing her knowledge.  I forget she's hearing:)
