Chaiyo Thai Cuisine

Just spent a birthday dinner with a group of deaf folks, and that alone can be overwhelming. Nonetheless, the waitress kept her composure and remained positive throughout. If one of the diners motions for her to come over, she does so quickly and is ready with eye contact, making sure she understands what the diner wants. One small con: other staff members seem to not know that we are deaf, so it might have been helpful if the waitress was there on hand to either instruct the staff which food is whose or communicate whatever we may have said to the waitress earlier.

This place is a real treat. Amazing incredible Tom Kha soups and Pad Thai dishes, along with one of the most fresh vegetarian rolls all around. That's in my opinion....Very vegan friendly- easily can substitute with tofu if you make the request. The waiters/waitresses can be really friendly communication-wise. They're excellent at eye-contact. Their accents can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to hard to lip-read. However, if you don't understand them, they can do different strategies at communicating-- like writing things down, or showing the menu, or gesturing. They're creative like that. The dishes are always so fresh and so amazing. Check it out! ;)
