I went one evening with a friend to Boxers, a gay bar in Chelsea. We had good seats (i.e. good lighting, can face each other while signing ASL, and we were comfortable). Soon that area was closed off for a private party, however the bartender who closed off the area allowed us to remain in our seats because the rest of the bar was crowded and we wouldn't be able to have a deaf-friendly experience if we had to be relocated. This shows the sensitivity of this venue and their goal in ensuring their customers have a positive experience.
Additionally, when I tried to order a drink and the bartender couldn't understand me, he automatically got a paper and pen and after I wrote the order and signed thank you when I tipped him.
