During the duration of the NAD conference, I ate here several times with several different groups of people. The closed captions were turned on for all the TV's (they have a lot!) The staff was super friendly and willing to write back and forth as well as do whatever was needed to communicate. Great job Networks Bar and Grill!
This sports bar is across the street from the convention center, where NAD 2016 was taking place. I popped in for an early lunch and felt very welcome by the staff, who made extra effort to communicate. I witnessed other staff members being friendly towards other Deaf customers and using pen and paper, gesturing, and menu pointing to communicate. Most of the TVs had captions on, but not all, hence my 4-star rating. Overall, though, a good DeafFriendly experience!
We went to the Network bar and noticed the TV didn’t have closed captions turned on. We notified the staff, and this was resolved immediately. Hopefully the staff will have the captions turned on permanently, rather than upon request. There were only a few customers there with two employees, but our orders took a long time to arrive. The server constantly talked at us even though we repeatedly requested that he write to us. I’ll give this place another try in between workshops during the conference this week.
