With an injury that ended up requiring surgery sooner than later, I asked for appointment to be established without interpreter if it has to reach that point as recovery of my serious injury is more important to me than complete communication access (I can use paper and pen, etc...). The response I got from scheduler: " You need an interpreter..." *later in process* "Your appointment is set for this day and time, but if we can't get an interpreter, we have to cancel and reschedule." I repeated myself and broke my own principal by saying I can get someone to interpret if needed - please do not cancel appointment. The response I got, "You must have a medically certified interpreter there with you." I cheered for this scheduler and told her that I was so happy to hear this - whoever this scheduler (who stated she is new, which is amazing) is, I want to shout on the mountain top a Hip Hip Hooray for getting this spot on! So many hospitals have failed and have lost lawsuits because of this, but Evergreen got it right! Thank you!!
